Job Title: Senior Planner
Location: Central London, UK

Salary: Up to £110,000 + Package DOE

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team for the development of a state-of-the-art Leisure Centre in London. The successful candidate will take a key role in overseeing the planning and scheduling of the entire project lifecycle, ensuring all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of the project schedule, working closely with the project manager, design, and construction teams.

  • Ensure effective coordination and communication between all project stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.

  • Develop detailed project plans and critical path schedules, taking into account resource availability, project scope, and budget constraints.

  • Monitor and update the project schedule, proactively identifying and resolving any scheduling conflicts, delays, or risks.

  • Conduct regular project reviews to track progress, and make necessary adjustments to the schedule.

  • Provide reports to senior management, stakeholders, and clients on project progress, milestones, and potential risks.

  • Assist in the preparation of bids and tender documentation related to project scheduling.

  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure that all architectural, engineering, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) plans are aligned with the project timeline.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to manage potential delays.

  • Lead and mentor junior planners or scheduling staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, project specifications, and quality control standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with at least 3 years in a senior planning role. Previous experience in planning large-scale leisure centre, sports, or public building projects is highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar tools.

    • NEC Contract experience

    • Strong understanding of project management principles, processes, and lifecycle.

    • Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and the ability to identify potential issues early.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both verbal and written.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Ability to lead a team and collaborate with different project disciplines.
