Known for delivering high-quality homes, they pride themselves on innovative design and community-focused regeneration. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic commercial team.

Role Summary

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager in delivering cost-effective procurement and commercial management of residential developments. You’ll be involved in the financial control of projects from pre-construction through to final account, helping ensure budgets are maintained and value is maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  • 24 months plus working for a residential focused developer or main contractor

  • Assist with cost planning, estimating, and budget preparation

  • Support in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers

  • Monitor project budgets and prepare monthly cost reports

  • Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams and subcontractors

  • Assist with subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts

  • Help identify and manage commercial risks

  • Maintain accurate records of variations and cost control measures

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related field

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a developer or main contractor

  • Good knowledge of residential construction processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard software

  • Full UK driving licence (desirable due to site travel)
